The communicant stands before the priest, makes the sign of the cross and says: Megha Asdoodzo, "I have sinned against God." The priest then places a small particle of our Lord's Body and Blood -- the bread having been dipped into the wine -- directly into the mouth of the communicant. The communicant again makes the sign of the Cross and steps aside for others to approach the blessed sacrament. After all have received Holy Communion, using the chalice to imprint the sign of the Cross over the communicants, the priest imparts the blessing of Psalm 28:9 : "Save your people, Lord, and bless your inheritance; shepherd them and lift them up from henceforth until eternity". 4 Weekly Wisdom In every situation, there are always two stories the story you see and the story God sees. Sometimes life seems to be taking us down a huge detour and everything looks like it's not going our way. In those situations, our life and our story seems to be a disaster. This is exactly what happened to Joseph, whose story is found in Genesis Joseph's brothers jealously hated him and sold him into slavery. Joseph was wrongfully put in prison for raping Potifer's wife, when really he refused to compromise his integrity by sleeping with her. Then, Joseph helped get the chief cupbearer out of jail; however, when the cupbearer had an opportunity to return the favor and get Joseph out of jail, the man forgot about Joseph. Joseph ended up spending thirteen years in jail for something he didn't do. At this point Joseph's story was going haywire, but God's story was right on track. That's because God had an amazing plan for Joseph's life; God was going to use Joseph to save Egypt and the surrounding lands for seven years of devastating famine. What looked to Joseph like a huge detour was really a great plan of God to provide food for countless people, including the very brothers that had sold Joseph into slavery. At the end of this, Joseph realized that God had a bigger plan for his life, and after his brothers come to him for food, he tells them: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives" (Genesis 50:20). All along, God's story was right on track. This same principle is also true in the life of Jesus. To the disciples, it looked as those Jesus would be a great king who would rule Israel and return the nation to greatness. They hailed him as a great leader. So, when Jesus was being crucified, the story they saw looked like a major train wreck this great leader whom they had followed for the past three years was suddenly dead. However, God's story was at its peak God was in the process of connecting humanity to himself. There's what you see and what God sees. When your life seems to be a major disaster; know that God has bigger plans to use your life for great things. The story you see may not reflect the long-term story God has planned. Therefore, trust God, knowing that he works for good in all circumstances (Romans 8:28).

The church has established a brokerage account and for those individuals who wish to make such a donation. The church will benefit by the donation, and you as the donor will receive a tax deduction for your donation. It is a win win for both your church and yourself. 6 Hope Grows in a Greenhouse in Berd, Armenia Life for Arev Nersisiyan in the remote region of Berd, Armenia hasn t always been easy. She previously experienced a lot of difficulty when trying to grow enough food to feed her family. Now, with a new greenhouse thanks to FAR s Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Program (BCPP), Arev has been able to build a small paradise thanks to hard work and perseverance. Part Time Secretary Position Volunteer secretary position, to begin immediately. Mondays will be a requirement as this is Der Hayr s day off. Three days for three hours will be required. Duties of the secretary will be as follows: Open mail, notify each organization/person who has received bills, checks or general correspondence, check church s and make sure that all s that need a response gets acknowledged, check voice mail on the church & life center phone and send to anyone who needs to respond to a message, send out forms requested for baptisms, weddings, etc. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10 am we are having a Community Meeting at the Family Life and Cultural Center. The purpose of this community meeting is to provide updates and to listen, as well embrace our guiding principles. Those principles are pretty simple and are why we are here - not for personal gain or glory, but to worship together as a family and to Honor God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Volunteers needed Hye Pointe & Sts. Vartanatz Golf Outing and Scholarship Fundraiser Once again, we are having our Scholarship Fundraising event on Wednesday, October 4 th, 2017 and welcome your help. Thanks to all those who have already volunteered for raffle, tickets, on the course and in the kitchen. We still need more assistance on the course 10-~3 and or in the Kitchen from 2-6ish on Oct 4 th. 8 Sunday School needs your help The Hye Pointe Sunday School is in the process of furnishing four classrooms and would greatly appreciate your help. In order to be ready for September 24th (first day of Sunday school), students will need chairs (40 total) and classrooms will need large whiteboards (4 total) and shelves (4 total). 10 Holy Cross was installed on the cupola of the Family Life and Cultural Center Welcome Back Breakfast On Sunday, September 24, The ACYOA of the Hye Pointe organized a welcome back breakfast for the Sunday School students and parishioners. This has been a beautiful tradition that our ACYOA does every year organizing a welcome back breakfast for our Sunday School students. On September 29, 2017 the Holy Cross was installed on the of the Family Life and Cultural Center s Cupola. We thank and give our appreciation to Kraig Menasian for installing the Holy Cross. May our Lord guard us under the shadow of His Holy and Precious Cross in Peace. Same day, Central Council visited our parish for their monthly meeting. During the fellowship hour ACYOA Central council presented parishioners about their work across the Diocese and parishioners had chance to ask questions about the ACYOA s programs and future plans. We wish our Sunday School a successful year. We thank our ACYOA members for their hard work and dedication to their Church.
